Hirslanden AG: Rollout of NEXUS / RISNG at Klinik Stephanshorn (St. Gallen)

With the successfully completed implementation of NEXUS / RISNG at Klinik Stephanshorn in St. Gallen, the Hirslanden Private Hospital Group continues its way towards a clinic-wide seamless integration. After launching the innovative NEXUS information system already at the Zurich Klinik im Park in 2017 and at the Klinik Hirslanden in April 2019, now a third location can benefit from the comprehensive digitalization of radiological processes.

The realization and implementation of a default teleradiology workflow was a main focus of the project aiming to integrate external partners like an important radiological institute in Zurich and a further external teleradiology service provider, which now can provide support in radiological diagnosis and reporting. On the basis of cross-facility interfaces, the entire radiological process was fully electronically mapped: Applying the NEXUS / CHILI Teleradiology Portal, now all process steps are controlled and documented by using one single system. Within only four weeks the entire teleradiological integration was planned, realized and put in operation.

“We are really happy about the consistent progress of the joint project with NEXUS showing us to what extent excellent communication on both sites contributes to a rapid realization,” explains Stefan Renz, head of Radiology and Multimedia Applications and Processes and project manager at Hirslanden AG. “Especially, we are pleased about the efficient and straightforward cooperation and the multiple options for a seamless integration provided by the NEXUS / CHILI products. Without them, it would not have been possible to integrate external institutes into our radiological processes in no time.” The Stephanshorn project was fully completed after only 6 weeks and is now in routine operation.

Within the next months we are going to integrate 13 further locations until finally all facilities of the Hirslanden AG can benefit from using one central digital application. Projects to connect the next hospital locations, originally scheduled for 2020, are already in progress.
