NEXUS strengthens engagement in ophthalmology

Ophthalmological treatments are becoming increasingly important in medical care. Optimizing treatment processes is crucial for ensuring the care of an aging society.

With the acquisition of 52.6 % of the shares in ifa systems AG, headquartered in Frechen near Cologne, NEXUS AG is significantly expanding its commitment in the field of eHealth applications in ophthalmology. The aim is to integrate this innovation area firmly into the NEXUS product portfolio.

With ifa systems AG, NEXUS is gaining a recognized and internationally active expert for ophthalmological software in hospitals and for doctors. Listed on the German securities market (Open Market), the company has excellent expertise in optimizing workflows and integrating ophthalmic devices and other software applications.


NEXUS is regarded as an innovative HIS provider and is at the same time the market leader in many special diagnostic solutions. This applies in particular to radiology, pathology, cytology, gastroenterology and cardiology. Thanks to its share in ifa systems AG, NEXUS will secure the company‘s special know-how and will be able to offer fully integrated solutions for another diagnostic department in the future.


Ifa systems AG will benefit from the know-how transfer and synergy effects of the NEXUS Group in the future and consequently be able to accelerate its strategic realignment further.
